Applications: Designed for pellet production using the extrusion-spheronization method. It is an ideal system for preparing blank pellets and drug-loaded cores in pharmaceutical, food, and chemical industries. It also supports drying, drug layering, and coating of the produced pellets.
Operating Principle: Powders and excipients are uniformly mixed with a wetting agent to form a wet mass. The material is fed by a screw and pushed by a paddle feeder into the extrusion chamber. Under radial extrusion pressure, it is forced through a cylindrical perforated screen to form dense extrudates. These extrudates enter the spheronizer bowl, where the rotation of the friction plate—driven by combined forces of shear, centrifugal motion, and friction—transforms them into high-quality spherical granules.
